Als Alex kurz darauf auch noch bemerkt, dass sie schwanger ist, wird ihr Leben vollends auf den Kopf gestellt.

Erst blieb keine Zeit wegen deines Studiums, dann wegen der Jobsuche. Dann lag es daran, dass deine Großmutter krank wurde. Seit einem Jahr redest du dich heraus. Und jetzt wird es wieder die Jobsuche sein.« Mit in die Seiten gestemmten Händen stand er vor ihr. Seine Stimme hatte jede Spur von Nervosität verloren und klang bestimmend und auch vorwurfsvoll.
Die Schuld lag nicht bei ihr. Zumindest nicht komplett. Auch wenn sie zugeben musste, dass sie seit dem Tod ihrer Oma ihm gegenüber ständig gereizt reagierte.

Kaum sind die Schwestern angekommen, steht Alex wegen eines Missverständnisses ohne Job da. Schnell wird ihr klar, dass ein Leben unter der karibischen Sonne nicht nur tropische Cocktails, Salsa, Strand und Meer bedeutet. Als Alex kurz darauf auch noch bemerkt, dass sie schwanger ist, wird ihr Leben vollends auf den Kopf gestellt.
